Yvolution SIM electric scooter review

two minute review

YES is Yvolution’s first attempt at breaking into the popular electric scooter market. And the Dublin-based company didn’t just copy what worked well for others; instead, he designed one of the most beautiful electric scooters we’ve ever seen, combining vibrant colors, bright lights and the unique Flexpress wooden deck – a real treat for the eyes.

The scooter comes practically pre-assembled; all you need to do is screw on the handles and you’re good to go. Operating the YES Electric Scooter is just as easy as there is just one button to press. The LED display is clear and easy to read and shows all the information you need to know about speed, headlights and more.

Speaking of lights: the Yvolution YES has a five-point safety lighting system that includes a bright headlight, an equally bright taillight, and smaller lights scattered around the Flexpress plate. You will be seen walking on YES on the street.

And it’s probably best that you’re highly visible because riding the YES Electric Scooter is quite a dangerous affair. It’s limited to 25km / 15.5 miles, just like any other e-scooters, but the brakes are electric and quite powerful. Worse yet, you apply them by pressing a small lever that doesn’t have much resistance, which makes braking rough and abrupt. The rear fender can also be used for braking, but it’s also connected to the electric brake, oddly enough, so it’s not much better to use it.
