When will Thor: Love and Thunder be released on Disney Plus?
Unfortunately, there is still no confirmed Disney Plus release date for Thor: Love and Thunder.
However, based on when other Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Phase 4 movies arrived on Disney Plus, we can speculate when Thor 4 will. The only Marvel superhero movies that will not Helping in this situation is Black Widow, which received a simultaneous theatrical and Disney Plus release in July 2021, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. The webslinger’s latest film hasn’t yet been released on a streaming platform, but it’s expected to hit the American service Starz first sometime in 2022. There’s no word on whether it will come to Disney Plus.
The first is Shang-Chi. The MCU movie starring Simu Liu arrived on Disney Plus on November 12, more than two months (70 days to be exact) after its theatrical release. Eternals then hit the Disney streamer on January 12 – 68 days after its initial theatrical release.
No Way Home was released in theaters after Eternals, but as stated above, it can’t help us here. Finally, Doctor Strange 2 arrived on Disney Plus on June 22nd – just 45 days after its theatrical release on May 6th.
What does all this tell us? Thor: Love and Thunder will arrive on Disney Plus between 40 and 70 days after its theatrical release. Using these numbers as a guide, the first Thor 4 could hit Disney Plus on August 17th. It’s also a Wednesday, which is the day Disney releases new content on its streaming platform.
Meanwhile, the last date it could arrive (based on Shang-Chi’s Disney Plus launch) would be Friday, September 16th. two days earlier, on the 14th of September.
Our guess? Thor: Love and Thunder will arrive on Wednesday, August 31st. Of course, it’s a little later in the Disney Plus release of Doctor Strange 2. But, with the next Marvel movie – Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – not being released in theaters until November 12, Marvel Studios may decide to delay the release. of Thor 4 to publicize its content.
Additionally, the upcoming Disney Plus MCU show – She-Hulk: Attorney at Law – arrives on August 17th. There’s no way Marvel and Disney will release the She-Hulk TV series and Thor 4 on the same day. It’s not in your best interest to do that – Thor’s latest solo adventure would certainly draw more viewers than She-Hulk: Attorney at Law if they were released simultaneously. Marvel and Disney should give She-Hulk some breathing room and allow the series to settle into its storyline before releasing Thor: Love and Thunder.
How long is Thor: Love and Thunder?
Thor: Love and Thunder won’t ask you to sit for three hours straight (or take multiple bathroom breaks) when it comes to Disney Plus.
