Stardew Valley is the next game to receive a free trial on Nintendo Switch Online.
Nintendo Switch Online members will be able to play the indie farming simulator from June 13 to 19, according to the game. Nintendo eShop page (opens in new tab). Like previous tests, it will give you access to the full game, so you can find out if the bucolic lifestyle of Stardew Valley is right for you.
We believe it will, however. In addition to being one of the best indie games, Stardew Valley’s loyal following has only grown since it was released on PC in 2016. It lets you build a thriving board with up to two other players in co-op.
How to get Stardew Valley free trial
To download the game, you will need to go to your Nintendo Switch eShop, select the Nintendo Switch Online option from the menu on the left, and select Stardew Valley from the current list of active game tests. Make sure you are currently subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online, otherwise you will not have access.
As with previous tests, any progress you make during the demo period will carry over to the full game if you purchase it. We also expect Stardew Valley to be discounted during the trial period to sweeten the deal.
Stardew Valley’s time in the spotlight comes on the heels of Spelunky 2, which received the free trial treatment last month. There were plenty of other standout picks too, including the 2D Minecraft-esque Terraria and the Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker sandbox collection.
