We’ve recently been impressed by Xiaomi’s 120W fast charging on many of its phones. Then Realme and OnePlus came with 150W fast charging. Now iQOO is pushing the boundaries of super fast charging with the introduction of 200W fast charging with its upcoming iQOO 10 Pro flagship.

The brand has officially launched 200W fast charging for the phone that will launch in China on July 19. It will be an upgrade from the 120W fast charging on the iQOO 9 Pro.
The company just teased it on Chinese social media platforms, it didn’t officially reveal anything about loading speeds. But there have been leaks about the phone and its charging capabilities.

The tweet above is from a leaked video that the phone charges from 1 to 63% in 5 minutes and 3 seconds. However, the brand did not mention battery capacity in the teasers.
Talking about the key features of the phone, it will come with a design that reminds us of its parent brand, Vivo’s X80 series.
As with other IQOO and Vivo flagships, the IQOO 10 Pro is also expected to be heavily based on the Vivo X80 Pro. It would probably borrow a lot of parts from the Vivo X80 Pro such as the screen, processor and camera. However, the ZEISS brand would not be appearing here.
If we go along with that, the phone will likely sport a 6.78-inch 2K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It might come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 itself and not the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 we saw with the Xiaomi 12S series.
Do we really need a run to the Watt rating?
As we’ve seen with many of the super fast charging technologies, the improvements in charging times between a 120W charger and a 150W charger are marginal. For example, charging 120W on Xiaomi 11T Pro takes 17 minutes to go from 0 to 100%. And the Realme GT Neo 3 also takes 17 minutes to go from 0 to 100%. But the times would be different according to the situations as charging the Xiaomi 120W can sometimes take 20-25 minutes to fully charge. Same goes for 150W charging of Realme GT Neo 3, times would fluctuate according to the situation.
Also, we need to take into account the charging efficiency. See the example of Realme 150W charger and Realme 80W charger. The 80W charger on the Realme GT Neo 3 takes 29 minutes to go from 0 to 100%.
As we’ve seen in the megapixel race, everyone has been behind 108MP cameras for quite some time. But now they’ve gone back to better 50MP cameras instead of chasing megapixels. Soon, we can expect the same to happen with loading speeds. My guess would be 65W, 66W or 67W depending on the brands charging technology.
