Summer Game Fest is in full swing right now and we’ve just seen another game revealed, a sci-fi action thriller set on Mars that looks particularly scary.
The Fort Solis reveal trailer keeps us a lot in the dark, going more for the emotional impact of the game than giving us too much detail on what we’re going to do in it. Set in a remote Martian mining station called Fort Solis, it looks like you’ll be switching between controlling two characters: doctor Wyatt Taylor and maintenance engineer Jack Leary.
See if you can understand what’s happening in the Summer Game Fest 2022 trailer:
After the reveal of the game, Geoff Keighley was joined on stage by actors Troy Baker and Roger Clark, the two main actors of For Solis. Baker plays the doctor Taylor and Clark plays the engineer Leary.
While none of the actors delved too deeply into explaining what was happening in the game, Baker did reveal a few details. When the game’s director reached out to recruit him for the project, he explained that Fort Solis would be “a tight thriller, we want it to feel like Dead Space meets Duncan Jones’ Moon.” So expect some weird and creepy sci-fi, perhaps with a little body horror to top it off.
You can watch the interview for yourself below:
While the trailer didn’t show much of the game’s action, it did reveal that Fort Solis is being built on Unreal Engine 5 and it looks absolutely gorgeous. The red planet is somewhere we’ve been in a lot of games and it’s usually a faded space, but in the trailer, those rich reds just give a sense of danger pulsing beneath the surface of each scene.
I hope we learn what it’s really about in a short time.
